Hourglass,
a quilt-inspired platform bed was
featured in Finding
Balance at the Houston
Center for Contemporary Craft during the fall of 2006. (Read a
review from The Houston Chronicle). Hourglass was also featured in Maine Wood 2008 at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship where Brian received an award for "Most Creative Use of Veneer".

Brian Reid's
studio furniture practice specializes in parquetry designs. He
studied at Parnham College (Dorset, UK) under John Makepeace and
Robert
Ingham. Currently based
in the midcoast of Maine, he creates one-of-a kind and commission pieces.
In 2007, Brian was one of 20 Searchlight
Artists selected
by the American
Craft Council and is returning as a Guest Artist of the New
Hamphshire Furniture Masters Association (NHFMA) this year. His work was also prominently featured in the recent Designer's Showcase of the Maine Home & Lifestyle Expo in Camden, ME.
